And if men come unto me I will show unto them their weakness. I give unto men weakness that they may be humble; and my grace is sufficient for all men that humble themselves before me; for if they humble themselves before me, and have faith in me, then will I make weak things become strong unto them. (Ether 12:27)
I love this verse of scripture in the Book of Mormon. I was studying it this morning, and then at church today, we covered this awesome talk by Dieter F. Uchtdorf, entitled, You Matter to Him. At the end of his talk, we are counseled to consider four divine principles, and the second one stood out to me-
The Lord entrusts "the fullness of [His] gospel [to] be proclaimed by the weak and simple unto the ends of the world." (See D&C 1:23) He has chosen "the weak things of the world [to] come forth and break down the mighty and strong ones" (D&C 1:19) and to put to shame "the things which are mighty." (1 Corinthians 1:27)
I love it when something I hear at church, in a lesson or a talk, ties in with my personal scripture study.
