Hey Mom,
That's pretty funny that dad fell asleep while reading his scriptures. That's happened to me a few times. I fell asleep praying the other day. It was during my study time, and I had decided to get up and go kneel and pray about something I had been studying, and then 20 minutes later I woke up, still kneeling next to my bed. My knees only a  little stiff. Luckily, that hasn't happened to me too much. I still think that the first thing I want to do when I get home is sleep for the first 2 weeks straight. Begin to catch up on all that I feel that I'm missing out here.
This week we had some fun stuff happen. We went and taught a less-active, Frankie, and as always, he had someone new for us to teach. So we taught her and set up another lesson, sadly that never actually happened. I think she went to Calgary to get her daughter. But a few days after that I went back to teach Frankie again, with Elder Dax, as we were on exchanges, and Frankie was high! He'd been…

Blogging Shout-Out

This blogging shout-out goes to my Dad. I was writing a post on my Happy Hearts Homeschool blog, about homeschool critics, and I decided to mention my dad's advice from when I was a teenager. He told me that it doesn't matter what anyone else in this world thinks of me. What matters is how I see myself. That counsel has helped me many times when others around me have been critical of some of my choices, especially when I pulled Marcus out of public school to take over the reigns of his education with my own hands and drive them all by myself. And then kept at it! Homeschooling has been one of the most amazing and successful endeavors I've ever taken on as a parent, and because of my dad's advice, I've never let other's differing opinions on the subject matter to me. (At least not for long.) My dad has never questioned me for any of the choices I've made in my life. He's simply loved and accepted me just the way I am. So, thanks, Dad. I love you.

Utah Vacation Pics

David, Marcus and I recently returned from a 2 week vacation in Utah. Here are some pictures I took when we gave my sister and her children a tour of Logan Canyon.

Hey Mom!
I'm doing great! This week has been pretty crazy. Our zone was combined with the Fort Macleod zone, so we gained another 4 sets of missionaries, so our zone is now 24 missionaries, and 3 districts. That's really going to fill up our mornings trying to get to all the meetings.  But I'm excited to try and make it work. It'll be a fun challenge. Honestly, it's a little on the overwhelming side, but we're just taking things one thing at a time, so it hasn't been too bad. We have some really good people in the zone, which really makes everything nicer and smoother.  Besides those changes, things were pretty slow this week. We had a fun service project the other day. We were helping to cut down trees and load them up to take them to the dump, and I got handed a chainsaw and they sent me to town to cut up the trees so they could be loaded easier. Then Blake asked me to cut off some pieces for his and his fiance's wedding next month, and that was fun t…

Hey mom!
I'm staying! I'm staying!  That makes me so happy. I didn't want to leave this area yet.  So yeah. I don't know what else to say now. I've been freaking about transfers. You know me and surprises... BUT I'M STAYING! So yeah. We had a really good week. So much has been happening. The Lord is really blessing us here. We've had 2 new investigators that pretty much fell into our laps while visiting with a less active member of the Kanai branch. So that was really sweet. We'll see them tomorrow.  And then we met with a less active member of the YSA branch, and that was really cool. Her name is Kate, and she had tons of really amazing questions. And we talked a lot about faith, and we shared the Joseph Smith story, and she was like "Wouldn't seeing God defeat the purpose of having faith that he's there, though?" And I had never thought about that, but we talked about all the trials that he still underwent and how much faith he still…

Hey Mom!

I'm on a little earlier today, but that's because we're headed out to Waterton today and we want to have as much time as possible out there. That should be a ton of fun though. I'm really excited. We were able to find members to drive the entire zone out there for the day, so we're having everyone kind of hurry through their normal schedule a little bit. Cool, eh? We haven't decided on a hike yet, so the possibilities are endless! Just kidding. We're actually limited to about 4 hours. Possibilities aren't quite limitless. I guess I'll just have to come back for the rest or something.
This last week has been good. We were able to meet with Jonathan a few times, but the meetings were weird. I can't figure him out. I feel like he's sincerely interested and he expresses that interest, but there seems to be something that is holding him back from really committing himself to it. We're really going to focus on praying for our investiga…

Hey Mom!

I'm doing great! It's been a pretty great week. We had the coolest thing ever happen on Wednesday. My companion and I were at the family history center printing off some papers that we needed, and we were in a rush to get out to Glenwood to help with a move and have dinner, but on the way this guy waved at Elder Call, and Elder Call had the impression to go say hi to him. So I got in the truck to back it out so we could take off. Well, the second I put the key in and got ready to turn it the spirit was like, "You need to get out there and talk to this guy." Well after a split second of wondering if I could be impatient, I decided to heed the spirit, so I got back out of the truck and went over to my companion and this guy, and he had us pull a couple of chairs up. And then we just started talking. He told us that he felt he needed to talk to someone and we appeared out of nowhere. Then he found out we were with a church and he was like "Well, can I be b…
