The Best Part of Moving

My favorite house because it reminded me of a house out of fairy tale, and it was in a gorgeous part of Washington state, near a beautiful lake. I got to live here for 7 whole months!                                                                                                                               I'll be honest here. The process of moving, in or out of state, and especially abroad, is a pain. You have to go through all sorts of hassles. Some are a minor inconvenience, like getting a new driver's license, while others are a major multi-step process, like obtaining a visa. Selling a house is no picnic, either. We've sold 5 so far, which isn't bad considering we've lived in 11 altogether, and that is not counting the apartments, condos, hotels and one time with family, that were all stepping-stones to each big move.

Darcie was enrolled in 10 different schools from elementary to high school! Zach was only in 7 different schools because he was 2-years older. …

Hey Mom!

I really am not sure what to share about this week. It's been a good week. We had a really good lesson with Richard and Mabel Fox. They're a really old couple. I know that he just turned 80, and she's right around the same age. But they came to the conference with Elder Holland, and in typical Holland fashion, he spoke directly to any investigators in the session and pretty much told them they needed to get baptized and that they couldn't deny the evidences. So, we went and met with them and we challenged them to be baptized on the 12th of April. And they were a little hesitant, though Richard said several times he knows that it's true. Their big issue is that they're so old and set in their ways. But we're trying to work with them. We told them to pray about it and they would get their answer. I'm a little worried about Mabel, but Richard is super solid. I think it'll happen though.

Want to hear something really cool? I just got an email fr…

I really don't know what heyo means. But, what's up?

This week was pretty good. The highlight of course, was this weekend, but I'll get to that in a just a minute. The rest of the week was pretty good. We were busy. We played games with the YSA for family home evening on Monday, and then we attended institute on Tuesdays with them. That's really cool. It's kind of weird being there as a missionary, because the teacher tends to still ask us to answer a lot of questions and I almost feel like I shouldn't as most of the guys are RM's and then it's just weird, but I really enjoy it. We also help to teach seminary once a week. On Thursdays, and the past couple of weeks we've just helped them work on memorizing scriptures, but it's fun to talk to the youth. I really hope I wasn't like that when I was that age though.

We also taught an ESL class on Saturday. There were 8 people there, all from Mexico. They were really cool. It was a fun class. W…

Marcus' Mormon Meme

Marcus created this meme for his Liahona Junior class. I think it's awesome that his education includes the gospel.

The craziest thing happened this week. So, on Friday we had Mission Leadership Council up in Calgary. We went and spent pretty much the whole day talking with all of the other leaders in the mission about how the mission is doing and what we'd like to see happen to see it improve and grow. It was good. Not much really happened there, but on the way back, I wanted to stop off at this store in Nanton. We go in, and this lady follows us in and introduces herself as Samantha Healey. She's a recent convert and she was baptized into the Oakville ward. She happens to live like 4 houses down the street from Ian and Roselle. So we spent a good twenty minutes talking. It was awesome. She took a picture and said she'd take it back to the ward and say hi for me. I really miss that ward. It was so crazy though. I mean, of all the places to run into someone from Milton. There's no chance. Only the Lord could have worked that one. It was a really powerful, but quiet moment where I kn…

Marcus' Pueblo Diorama

Marissa created the Indian boy and girl, dog and bunny, but the rest is Marcus' creation. My favorite part is his crop garden.

Zach's latest news out in the mission field. Please email/write to him if you haven't in a while.
Dear Mom,
Well. The craziest thing ever happened yesterday. Super crazy. Like, my whole life is now different crazy.

But, before I get to that I'll give you a brief update as to the rest of the week, before the crazy happened. Because, let me tell  you, it was crazy.
Our week was good. Not a whole lot happened, but we had a great lesson with Renee on Thursday and she agreed to let us start teaching her again and we basically just talked about the gift of the Holy Ghost and the influence it has on our lives and then getting baptized. There is no doubt in my mind that she will get baptized; it will just be a matter of when. The coolest thing about that lesson though, was her 11 year old son was taking a huge role in teaching her and kept inviting her to be baptized. It was great. It was a wonderful lesson.

Besides that, not much was out of the ordinary in High River. Service... w…
